Walmart, one of the largest supermarket chains in the United States, has revealed its expansion plans in the country, which include opening more Walmart and Sam’s Club stores this year. Here’s where they’ll be, so you can check if there’s one opening near you.
Where will the new Walmart and Sam’s Club stores open?
According to the company, five new Walmart stores will be opening soon. These will be located at:
- Walmart Neighborhood Market – 8600 Hwy 69, Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Mid-June
- Walmart Supercenter (conversion) – 600 Showers Dr., Mountain View, California – July
- Walmart Supercenter – 9399 North Spring Run Parkway, Eagle Mountain, Utah – August
- Walmart Neighborhood Market – 6275 US-90, Milton, Florida – August
- Walmart Neighborhood Market – 4239 Berryhill Road, Pace, Florida – September
As for Sam’s Club, the company stated it plans to renovate its 600 stores in the U.S. and open 30 new locations, although it hasn’t specified where yet.

When will the new Walmart and Sam’s Club stores open?
The Walmart stores are expected to open by the end of September this year, but no opening dates have been provided for the new Sam’s Club locations.
Walmart to renovate stores across the United States
Recently, Walmart announced plans to renovate hundreds of its stores nationwide—not only to redesign their appearance but also to improve customer services. According to the company, approximately 650 stores will be renovated, in addition to the construction or conversion of over 150 locations.
