It’s here! Netflix’s new romantic comedy, Too Much, premiered on July 10 on the streaming platform. The series, produced by Lena Dunham and Luis Felber, is already generating buzz among viewers; if you haven’t watched it yet, here’s what it’s about, who stars in it, and everything you need to know.
What is Netflix’s Too Much about?
Too Much tells the story of Jessica, a New York career-driven thirty-something who, after a painful breakup, accepts a new job and relocates to London seeking a fresh start and a way to move on from her past; however, everything changes when she meets Felix in her new city—a laid-back musician who prefers to sleep until noon.
As the plot unfolds, Jessica discovers that both love and the city are far from the romantic ideal she imagined, and London is nothing like the Notting Hill fantasy she had in mind.

Is Too Much based on a true story?
The Too Much series is inspired, in part, by the real-life experiences of Lena Dunham, the show’s writer and director. While the protagonist Jessica has a different career, her emotional journey mirrors key moments in Dunham’s life.
In real life, Dunham had a long-term relationship with Jack Antonoff, musician from the bands Fun and Bleachers. After their breakup, she moved to London for a fresh start. There, in 2021, she met British musician Luis Felber, began a relationship, and eventually married him.
