
On the night of Tuesday, May 13, news broke of the death of Valeria Márquez, a popular model and content creator from the state of Jalisco. The influencer was shot and killed while doing a live stream. Here’s everything we know about the case.

The influencer was live streaming and interacting with her thousands of followers when, suddenly, an armed man entered the premises and shot her before fleeing the scene.
Following the attack, the young woman collapsed in front of the camera. Everything was captured on video, and Valeria’s followers witnessed the crime through their screens, unable to comprehend what had just happened. Some even thought it was a prank.

Moments later, members of the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office arrived at the scene to carry out the proper investigations, while family members came to identify the body.

One of the first strange incidents was the arrival of an alleged delivery man carrying a bag of “little stars.” His behavior was suspicious, as he insisted on handing the package directly to Valeria. When Érika, the salon’s employee, offered to accept it, the man refused, asked when Valeria would be there, and left without delivering anything. Upon hearing this, Valeria voiced her concern: “Dude, maybe they were going to kill me,” she said.
Throughout the live stream, other individuals entered the salon. One delivered a stuffed animal, another pretended to place a café-style order. During that time, Valeria received messages from a woman named Viviana, who asked her to stay because she wanted to meet her. Moments later, the assailant entered the establishment, asked directly for Valeria, and after confirming her identity, shot her.
