Which new characters will appear in The Sandman season 2?
According to Netflix, the second and final season will introduce several new characters. These include:
- Ruairi O’Connor as Orpheus, a young poet, musician, and oracle, and the only son of Dream and the muse Calliope. Idealistic and romantic, Orpheus shares many of his father’s qualities—until tragedy reshapes his view of love and plunges him into its darker complexities.
- Freddie Fox plays Loki, the unpredictable god of chaos. Charming and shapeshifting, Loki is a master of deception: the most brilliant and dangerous figure in any room. His allure is undeniable—but trusting him is always a mistake.
- Clive Russell portrays Odin, ruler of Asgard, father of Thor, and blood brother to Loki. A longtime ally of Dream, Odin is now driven to extreme measures to prevent the coming of Ragnarök.
- Laurence O’Fuarain takes on the role of Thor, the god of thunder. Wielding his hammer Mjolnir, Thor is brash, crude, and ruled by his appetites—for food, drink, battle, and sex.
- Ann Skelly and Douglas Booth play Nuala and Cluracan, emissaries from the Faerie Court. As siblings, they couldn’t be more different: Nuala is principled and empathetic, while Cluracan is reckless and indulgent. They clash on nearly everything—except their unbreakable bond.
- Jack Gleeson is Puck, a mischievous faerie in service to King Auberon. A lover of chaos, Puck delights in manipulating mortals and inspired Shakespeare’s version of Puck in *A Midsummer Night’s Dream*.
- Indya Moore plays Wanda, a professional driver and security agent for an elite travel agency. During a surreal road trip into the waking world, Wanda proves to be an essential and trusted guide.
- Steve Coogan lends his voice to Barnabas, the loyal dog companion to the prodigal brother of the Endless. Cynical yet loving, Barnabas is both man’s best friend and his most honest critic.
When does The Sandman season 2 premiere?
The second and final season will be released in three parts: Volume 1 hits the streaming platform on July 3, Volume 2 drops on July 24, and a special bonus episode arrives on July 31.
What is The Sandman 2 about?
The second season picks up where the first left off. At the end of the previous season, Dream had unmade the rebellious Corinthian—a nightmare gone rogue—and eliminated the dangerous Dream Vortex, which threatened to destabilize both his realm and the entire universe.
