In an announcement made from Trump Tower in New York, the Trump family revealed the launch of Trump Mobile, a new mobile phone carrier. This new project aims to position itself as a “patriotic alternative” focused on “made in USA” services to compete with giants like AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

The launch of the service coincided with a key date for the MAGA movement: the tenth anniversary of the day Trump descended the golden escalator at Trump Tower to announce his first presidential campaign in 2015. That gesture was revived as part of Trump Mobile’s marketing strategy.
What does the new Trump Mobile service offer?
Trump Mobile’s flagship plan, called “The 47 Plan”, costs $47.45 per month. The price is no coincidence: it’s a nod to Donald Trump’s presidential terms, being the 45th U.S. president and now serving again as the 47th. The monthly package includes:
- Unlimited calls, texts, and data.
- Roadside assistance for drivers.
- A telehealth and pharmacy benefit included in the same monthly fee.
- Free text messaging to 100 countries around the world.
The official website states: “With Trump Mobile, we’re going to be introducing an entire package of products that people can come, they can get for one flat monthly fee,” said Donald Trump Jr. during the launch event.
What are the features of Trump Mobile’s T1 phone?
Alongside the mobile service, the company also announced the release of its own device: the T1, a gold-colored smartphone engraved with an American flag. The device is already available for pre-order on Trump Mobile’s website for $499 and its technical specs place it in the mid-to-high range:
- 6.8-inch AMOLED display
- Main camera with 50 megapixels
- Front camera with 16 megapixels
- 12 GB of RAM
- 256 GB of internal storage
- Android 15 operating system
A screenshot from the site also displays Trump’s iconic campaign slogan: “Make America Great Again”.
Who is behind the Trump Mobile project?
Although the Trump Organization name headlines the project, a legal disclaimer at the bottom of the site clarifies:
“Trump Mobile, its products and services are not designed, developed, manufactured, distributed or sold by The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals.”
This confirms that Trump Mobile operates under a brand licensing agreement, similar to other products launched by the former president, such as watches, sneakers, and even Bibles.
Even so, Donald Trump Jr. emphasized that this new step addresses an underserved tech market:
“A big part of what we’ve done has been focused on technology for people who have been underserved, whether that’s been in crypto or anything else, but one of the places where we felt there was lackluster performance was in the mobile industry.”
Is Trump Mobile a good deal compared to other companies?
The monthly plan’s pricing has raised questions. While Trump Mobile claims to offer the “same coverage as the 3 nationwide phone service carriers”, its monthly rate is notably higher than competitors such as:
- Visible (by Verizon): $25 per month for unlimited service.
- Mint Mobile: $30 per month on its 12-month unlimited plan.
Nevertheless, Trump Mobile boasts of having U.S.-based customer service centers.
“You’re not calling up call centers in Bangladesh. You’re doing it right out of St. Louis, Missouri,” Eric Trump said in an interview with Fox Business.
However, a customer service representative refused to disclose the call center’s location, citing “security reasons.”
