When Will CosMc’s Drinks Be Available at McDonald’s?

The drinks are scheduled to launch on September 2, 2025. But don’t get too excited just yet — this will only be a market test, and it’s not clear how long they’ll stay on the menu. So once they’re released, it’s best to grab yours as soon as possible.

Which McDonald’s Locations Will Have CosMc’s Drinks?

So far, McDonald’s hasn’t shared exactly which locations will carry the drinks. However, the company stated that they will be available in about 500 restaurants, including spots in Wisconsin, Colorado, and surrounding areas.

What Was CosMc’s?

CosMc’s was an innovative food concept developed by McDonald’s. It offered a scaled-down format that maintained the McDonald’s spirit while delivering a unique and distinctive identity. Inspired by a futuristic, space-themed aesthetic, the brand was tied to a charming mascot that appeared in McDonald’s commercials in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Why Did McDonald’s Close CosMc’s Locations?

The fast-food giant explained that CosMc’s was launched to gain better insights into the fast-growing beverage sector. The pilot locations allowed the company to test new flavors and technologies. However, McDonald’s says it has now gathered valuable data and, as part of the next phase of its testing strategy, decided to close the CosMc’s stores and begin integrating CosMc’s-inspired beverages into its regular restaurants. Additionally, the company announced it will form a specialized beverage team to deliver more innovative drink offerings to customers.

How many McDonald’s are there in the United States?

Currently, the company has 13,598 restaurants in 54 states of the United States.

History of McDonald’s

In 1954, Ray Kroc had the opportunity to visit a small restaurant in San BernardinoCalifornia, owned by brothers Dick and Mac McDonald. Although the place was simple, Kroc was amazed by the remarkable efficiency with which it operated. The McDonald brothers had designed a streamlined menu that only included burgers, fries, and drinks, which allowed them to maintain high standards of quality and offer fast service.

When Kroc learned that the brothers were looking for a new franchisee, he saw a great business opportunity. In 1955, he founded McDonald’s System, Inc., which would later become McDonald’s Corporation. Six years later, he acquired the exclusive rights to the McDonald’s name and operating system.

In 1958, the chain celebrated a major milestone: the sale of 100 million hamburgers. Today, McDonald’s is one of the most recognized fast food brands globally, with over 36,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries around the world.
