History of Little Caesars
The story of the company as we know it today began with a blind date between Mike Ilitch and Marian Bayoff, organized by Mike’s father in 1954. A few months later, the couple got married.
With great vision, Mike and Marian Ilitch invested all their savings into their first pizzeria, located in Garden City, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. Marian carefully tracked the first sales of Little Caesars in a spiral notebook.
In 1962, they opened their first franchise in Warren, Michigan. This decision to expand through franchises marked the beginning of rapid growth, allowing Little Caesars to become the fastest-growing pizza chain in the United States and an internationally recognized brand.
