History of Tajín
Tajín is a Mexican brand founded in 1985 by Horacio Fernández, inspired by his grandmother’s homemade recipe for dried chiles with lime and salt. The name comes from the El Tajín archaeological site in Veracruz, as a tribute to Mexico’s cultural richness.
In 1993, Tajín expanded into the United States and founded Tajín International Corporation in Houston, Texas. Today, what began as a small business in Guadalajara has become an international phenomenon thanks to its unique blend of chili powder with a citrusy, salty twist. Currently, Tajín is available in more than 65 countries, standing as a symbol of Mexican flavor and a staple companion for fruits, snacks, and drinks.
