Wrestling is in mourning following the announcement of the death of WWE legend Hulk Hogan. The news of his passing was confirmed by international media outlets, which reported that the wrestler died at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Here’s everything we know about his death.

How did Hulk Hogan die?

According to initial reports, the wrestler experienced health problems on Thursday morning, prompting paramedics to rush to his Clearwater home. First responders attempted to revive him, but Hogan reportedly suffered cardiac arrest, which ultimately took his life.

So far, the official cause of death has not been confirmed. Last May, the WWE icon underwent neck surgery, from which, according to his representative, he was recovering.

How old was Hulk Hogan?

At the time of his death, the wrestler was 71 years old.

What is Hulk Hogan’s net worth?

Hulk Hogan’s net worth is estimated at $25 million. This figure includes a $31 million settlement with Gawker.com. In 1992, Hulk purchased an oceanfront property in Belleair, Florida, for $2 million. He demolished the original house and spent several years building a luxurious mansion spanning over 17,000 square feet, which was completed in 1996. The property gained fame when it was featured on the reality show Hogan Knows Best, which aired from 2005 to 2007.

However, his divorce from Linda Hogan had a major impact on his finances. Hulk had to give her 70% of the couple’s liquid assets, an additional $3 million for property settlements, and 40% ownership of his various business ventures. Linda also received over $7 million in bank and investment accounts, along with several luxury vehicles. In a 2011 radio interview, Hogan admitted that the divorce nearly left him bankrupt.

Despite the financial blow, he managed to recover. In 2014, he returned to WWE and hosted WrestleMania. That same year, he bought a house in Clearwater for $3 million, and in 2016, he purchased the neighboring property for $1.6 million.

Who was Hulk Hogan?

Terry Gene Bollea, better known as Hulk Hogan, was born on August 11, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Tampa, Florida, a city he always considered home. As a child, he showed a strong passion for baseball and was reportedly scouted by Major League teams while playing Little League. However, an injury ended his traditional sports career, and at 16, he discovered professional wrestling—a turning point that would change his life.

He made his debut in 1977 with a local promotion in Fort Myers, Florida, under the masked character “The Super Destroyer.” It was then that a local TV host compared him to Lou Ferrigno, star of The Incredible Hulk, which inspired his iconic nickname. In 1979, after teaming up with Vince McMahon Sr., he adopted the name “Hogan” and soon began his rapid rise to stardom in the WWF (now WWE), becoming a global icon in the 1980s and 1990s.

Beyond wrestling, Hogan ventured into film and television, appearing in movies like Rocky III and shows like Thunder in Paradise. He also launched restaurants, energy drinks, action figures, and various branded products. Personally, he married three times and had two children. His legacy as a wrestler, entrepreneur, and media personality remains one of the most enduring in pop culture history.
