The ring is set for the fight of the year! This Saturday, the main event Canelo vs. Crawford will electrify the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where the fighters will go head-to-head in pursuit of the championship. But behind the excitement of the bout, there’s also a massive sum of money on the line. Here’s how much Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez will earn if he manages to retain his title.
How much will Canelo earn vs. Crawford?
In this matchup against Terence Crawford, Canelo Álvarez will make $150 million. Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez enters the fight as a slight favorite over Terence “Bud” Crawford. While the American remains undefeated and is regarded by many experts as the current pound-for-pound king, the Mexican champion’s experience and career trajectory give him a small edge. On top of that, Álvarez is more comfortable and natural at super middleweight, which could be the deciding factor in this clash.

Biography of Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez
Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez was born on July 18, 1990, in San Agustín, a community on the outskirts of Guadalajara, Jalisco. From a young age, his father instilled a strong work ethic in him, while his brother Rigoberto sparked his passion for boxing by gifting him his first pair of gloves when he was just 10 years old. While helping his father sell popsicles in the streets of Juanacatlán and serving fruit drinks in the mornings, Canelo dreamed of becoming a professional boxing champion. In the afternoons, he trained tirelessly at José “Chepo” Reynoso’s gym.
As a child, Saúl was often teased and nicknamed because of his appearance. Ironically, one of those nicknames, “El Canelo”, would later become a symbol of success and resilience. At age 15, he made his professional debut on October 29, 2005, at the Arena Chololo Larios in Tonalá. That night, he defeated Abraham González by technical knockout in the fourth round—an early sign of the talent that would take him to the top of the boxing world.
From his earliest fights, he faced much older and stronger opponents. However, that never stopped him: in 2006, just one year after his debut, he had already become middleweight champion of the state of Jalisco.
