
Are you a Harris Teeter customer? Then we have some bad news for you. The supermarket chain has announced that it will be closing several of its stores across the country this summer. How many stores will Harris Teeter close?
According to the company, five stores in the United States are scheduled to close.

Which Harris Teeter stores will be closing?
The store closures will take place in three states: Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina. These are the locations:
- 5563 Western Blvd, Raleigh, North Carolina, 27606 – closing July 20
- 11845 Old Georgetown Rd, Rockville, Maryland, 20852 – closing July 20
- 8200 Crestwood Heights Dr, McLean, Virginia, 22102 – closing July 20
- 950 S. George Mason Dr, Arlington, Virginia, 22204 – closing July 20
- 3600 S. Glebe Rd., Suite W100, Arlington, Virginia, 22202 – closing August 4
Why is Harris Teeter closing stores?
Kroger, the parent company of Harris Teeter, stated that the closures come after careful consideration and a strategic review of the market. Each of the five stores employs between 100 and 120 people, all of whom will have the opportunity to transfer to other company locations.

How can I order groceries online?
The supermarket chain offers several ways to shop for groceries online. With pickup, delivery, and shipping options, you can place your order from home using the website or mobile app.
If you choose pickup, simply shop online for the items you need and pick them up at the store of your choice. Keep in mind that not all locations currently offer this service.
You can also shop online and have your groceries delivered to your home the same day or schedule a delivery time for the next day or later. This service has a fee that typically ranges between $6.95 and $9.95, depending on your location, and is applied to your order at checkout. To use this option, follow these steps:
- Place your order online, and the store staff will handle the shopping
- Once your order is ready, you’ll receive a notification that it’s on its way
- Your groceries will be delivered right to your doorstep by a driver
