ChatGPT, OpenAI’s popular artificial intelligence chatbot, experienced a series of service interruptions today, July 15, leaving millions of users without access to the tool. Google searches for terms like “chatgpt unusual activity,” “chatgpt is down,” and “status” saw an increase.
Users reported multiple failures when trying to access from the app and the website. According to Downdetector, the outage is widespread and began after 7 PM.

Why did ChatGPT go down?
On its website, OpenAI states that “we are currently experiencing issues” and is investigating the cause of the error. It’s worth noting that an hour earlier, Sora also began to experience an outage.
“Connectors are automatically enabled in ChatGPT. We are investigating the issue for the listed services,” the message states.
