Cameo Live

Cameo LiveWho’s your favorite celebrity? You follow them on all their social media handles, but have you ever imagined having a chat with them? Now, you and your loved ones can video chat with any actor, artist, athlete, and other celebrities you choose, thanks to Cameo’s most recent product, “Cameo Live.”

Cameo is an online service created to connect users with their favorite celebrities. Although celebrities determine their own rates, getting a video will generally cost you between $1 and $15,000. You can gift the videos to loved ones on their birthdays or use them for other special occasions such as greetings, prom invites, marriage proposals, gender reveals, or job offers.

The app has provided celebrities with an additional source of income and its users a chance to connect with their favorite artists.

Connecting people to their favorite celebs

Since its launch in 2017, Cameo has released several products, such as “Cameo Direct Messages,” “Cameo Pass,” “Cameo for Business,” and “Cameo for brand deals and physical merchandise, thanks to its acquisition of Represent

In 2020, the company introduced Cameo Zoom, which failed because it was too expensive. Last year, Cameo unveiled a feature that works like Cameo Live —  “Cameo Calls.”  Cameo Calls is a live, two-minute virtual meet-and-greet service that only supports one-on-one calls, unlike Cameo Live, which can accommodate a group of friends or family.

This celebrity shout-out app allows its users to purchase celebrity videos ranging from personalized to more intimate ones.

Cameo Live

The app’s most recent offering, “Cameo Live,” works like Cameo Calls but with three significant features:

  • It allows users to extend chats to 10 minutes
  • You can specify the day and time of the call
  • Choose between a one-on-one chat and a group call with up to nine friends and family members.

Some of the product’s early adopters include pro wrestler Mick Foley, Bonnie Wright from the Harry Potter series, Sean Astin from Stranger Things, and Real Housewives legend Dorinda Medley. According to the brand, beta users of Cameo Live have already scheduled virtual birthday parties, jam sessions with their favorite musicians, and pep talks before job interviews.

Steven Galanis, co-founder and CEO of Cameo, said in a statement: “What started as a lightbulb moment with a new digital autograph five years ago led us down the path of changing the interaction between artists, fans, and businesses.”

How to  book a call with Cameo Live

Where would you like to book? You have two options; you can book either on:

  1. Cameo’s Website, or
  2. Cameo Live app on Koji App Store

Once you have identified the celebrity you want to connect with, you can pick three dates and times that work best for you. You can then invite your loved ones to join in the call.  However, your invites are limited to a maximum of nine people.

However, Cameo cannot guarantee that your favorite celeb will pick up your call. You can get either of the three available responses:

  • Decline your call
  • Leave the ongoing call
  • Block you
