You Asked for It, and Now It’s Back! Blue Bell brings back fan-favorite ice cream flavors. After an intense tournament in which Blue Bell fans voted for their favorite discontinued flavors to return, the brand has officially announced the winners and will be offering these beloved treats for a limited time. We’ll tell you which flavors made the cut and when you can get them—so you don’t miss your chance to try them again.
Which Blue Bell Ice Cream Flavors Are Back?
Last year, Blue Bell hosted a contest on its social media channels and website, giving ice cream lovers the chance to bring back a retired flavor. The tournament began with 16 fan-favorite options carefully selected based on customer requests. After weeks of voting, the company decided to bring back not just one, but two flavors. The winners were:
- Groom’s Cake: A rich Blue Bell milk chocolate ice cream swirled with chunks of chocolate cake and strawberry hearts coated in chocolate, all tied together with ribbons of strawberry sauce and chocolate icing.
- Cookie Cake: A sweet cream ice cream filled with chocolate chip cookie pieces and swirls of both chocolate and vanilla icing.

When Will Groom’s Cake and Cookie Cake Be Available?
Groom’s Cake is already available in both pint and half-gallon sizes. Cookie Cake, which came in second in the tournament, will return later this month. Both will be available only for a limited time.
Blue Bell’s Story
It all started on a hot summer day in 1907, when a group of local businessmen in Brenham, Texas, founded the Brenham Creamery Company with the goal of using excess cream brought in by local farmers to produce homemade butter.
Over time, the small creamery expanded into ice cream production, delivering frozen treats to neighbors by wagon. In 1930, the company changed its name to Blue Bell Creameries, inspired by the Texas native wildflower, the bluebell. Butter production continued until 1958, when the company shifted its full focus to making ice cream.
It wasn’t until the 1980s that Blue Bell became available outside of Texas. Since then, its growth has been steady and measured. Although the brand isn’t sold in every U.S. supermarket, Blue Bell has become one of the top-selling ice cream brands in the country. Today, its products are available in 24 states.
What Products Does Blue Bell Sell?
Currently, Blue Bell’s product lineup includes classic ice creams, no-sugar-added varieties, sherbets, and frozen snacks. All items are delivered to grocery and food stores through the brand’s direct-store delivery system.
