How to ride in an Amazon robotaxi?

In Las Vegas, pick-ups and drop-offs are conducted in designated transport zones at each destination. At partner locations like Resorts World Las Vegas and AREA15, passengers have exclusive areas to board and exit. A Zoox concierge will be there to welcome you, explain how the app works, and answer any questions, ensuring a smooth first ride.

To identify your robotaxi, the vehicle’s license plate is visible in the app. The app also provides estimated pick-up times, real-time updates on the vehicle’s arrival, and post-ride summaries with an option to leave feedback. For assistance before, during, or after your trip, you can contact Zoox’s remote support team via the app or the “Help” button on the passenger screen inside the robotaxi.

What is Amazon’s robotaxi like?

Zoox has designed an innovative robotaxi focused entirely on passenger experience. The vehicle has no steering wheel or traditional controls and can carry up to four people, allowing rides to be shared, reducing traffic, and easing urban parking challenges.

The robotaxi doors open on either side for safe entry. Inside, each seat has a seatbelt and cup holders for convenience. The central console includes a wireless charging pad for two phones simultaneously, plus additional ports for devices like laptops and tablets, perfect for working during your ride.

The interior screen indicates when to close the door and start the trip. During the ride, it shows location, route, and estimated arrival time. You can also control music and adjust individual climate settings from each seat.

External sensors enable the AI driving system to navigate precisely, while exterior lights communicate with other drivers. Safety is a priority: horseshoe-shaped airbags deploy on both sides and the center of the vehicle in case of emergency, protecting all passengers.

What is Zoox?

Zoox is an Amazon-owned company specializing in autonomous vehicles designed specifically for the urban mobility of the future. Unlike traditional cars, Zoox vehicles have no steering wheel or manual controls; their focus is entirely on passenger experience and safety.
