The premiere of Stranger Things 5 is getting closer, and we have good news for you: the Duffer Brothers, creators of the popular Netflix series, confirmed that the post-production process for the first two episodes of the final season has been completed. But that’s not all—they also addressed a question fans have been asking for some time: Will Eleven disappear? Here’s what they said.
What will happen to Eleven in Stranger Things 5?
With Hawkins on the brink of collapse and Vecna still posing a terrifying threat, Eleven’s fate remains one of the most unsettling mysteries. Millie Bobby Brown, who has portrayed Eleven since the first season, has hinted that her character will have an emotional, possibly tragic ending.

In January, Netflix shocked fans by posting an image of a missing person poster featuring Eleven (under the name Jane Hopper), offering a reward for her… dead or alive. According to the poster, she disappeared in June 1986, and the new season takes place in the fall of 1987—meaning her whereabouts have been unknown for over a year.
But is she really missing? The second episode specifically addresses the disappearance of someone—could it be her or someone else? Fan theories abound, with some speculating it could also be Holly Wheeler, Mike and Nancy’s younger sister. However, the Duffer Brothers have already responded to this mystery.
Regarding this, the series creators simply said: “Yes, yes, do you think you know who it is?”, suggesting that things are not as they seem, so the final season promises many surprises.
