When Is Snoopy’s Anniversary?
Snoopy first appeared in the iconic Peanuts comic strip on October 4, 1950, and quickly became one of the most beloved characters worldwide. That’s why October 4 is celebrated as his official anniversary. In 2025, Snoopy and the Peanuts universe will mark their 75th anniversary.
Although his debut was in October, many fans also celebrate his birthday on August 10, as that’s the date mentioned in the comic strip.
Snoopy’s Backstory
Snoopy is one of the most iconic and charming characters from the Peanuts universe. He was born on August 10 at the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm, along with his seven siblings: Spike, Belle, Marbles, Olaf, Andy, Molly, and Rover. His first home was with a girl named Lila, who had to give him up when her family moved to an apartment that didn’t allow dogs. Snoopy was then adopted by Charlie Brown, who became his forever owner.
Snoopy lives in a red doghouse in Charlie Brown’s backyard. Though it’s his official home, he rarely goes inside due to his claustrophobia, preferring instead to relax on the roof. Legend has it that inside his doghouse he stores everything from a pool table to a Van Gogh painting.
