According to the FSIS, Kayem Foods received consumer complaints about alleged white plastic pieces found in the sausages, posing a choking hazard. As a result, the company initiated a recall of the affected product.

Which chicken sausages were recalled?
The recall involves 24,173 pounds of sausages packaged in four-count 315g units of Kayem Foods’ “All Natural Al Fresco Chicken Sausage Sweet Apple with Vermont Made Syrup.” Each package is marked with lot number 179 and an expiration date of October 1, 2025.

The FSIS stated that the affected products were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
