Medical reports stated that the evangelical pastor had been suffering from pneumonia, a condition that had recently forced him to step away from the pulpit of the Sun Valley church, where he had preached for more than five decades.

Just this past Sunday, Tom Patton, a pastor at Grace Community Church, informed the congregation that MacArthur had been hospitalized due to pneumonia and that his passing was expected soon.
MacArthur’s health began to decline in 2023 after he experienced breathing difficulties following a sermon. He was hospitalized and underwent three heart surgeries and one lung procedure. After spending seven weeks in the hospital, he was discharged and returned home; however, his condition worsened again this year.
