The History of Pic ‘N’ Save
Pic ‘N’ Save first opened its doors in 1950 in Culver City, California, and quickly became a Southern California icon. Over the next 50 years, the store expanded to more than 150 locations, winning over generations with its deep discounts, unique deals, and fun shopping environment.
Founded by retail visionary Bill Zimmerman, the company was built on a simple but powerful idea: offering quality closeout merchandise at unbeatable prices. Zimmerman and his team had a special knack for finding great deals and passing those savings on to customers. Beyond the low prices, what truly set the brand apart was the thrill of the bargain hunt.
Zimmerman was also a leader who believed deeply in the power of community. He fostered a workplace built on trust and respect and encouraged his employees to give back to their communities while creating memorable experiences for every customer.
